Many beautifully designed QR codes fail to scan. The usual cause is a setting most people miss: the error-correction level. A centre logo covers real data, and level H (tolerating 30% damage) provides enough redundancy to compensate.

The colour rule is decisive: cameras read contrast, not colour. Keep the code dark on a light background, and avoid two colours of similar brightness. For print, use SVG or a high resolution.

›Why won't my code scan?

Usually: a logo that is too large (over 25%), weak contrast between the two colours, or covering one of the three corners.

›What size should I print it?

Code width ≥ one tenth of the scanning distance. To scan from one metre, make it at least 10cm.

SVG for print — being vector it prints at any size without pixelation. PNG for digital use.
